On December 21, 1971, Edward Ben Elson (hereinafter defendant), was convicted by a jury in the county court of Dane county on the charge of disorderly conduct, in violation of sec. 947.01 (1), Stats. The defendant is an attorney and in that capacity appeared pro se. His conviction arises out of a visit which he made to the Mendota State Hospital for the purpose of interviewing a client. Sentence was withheld and defendant was placed on probation for six months with a stay of execution pending appeal. Appeal was taken to the circuit court for Dane county where the judgment of conviction was affirmed. From the judgment of conviction and the order affirming the judgment, defendant has appealed.
